MAKING DISCIPLES IN GUAM AND MICRONESIA CHURCHES
The 2018 PIU Ministry Equipping Conference
February 8-10, Palmridge Hotel, Guam
The MEC is part of Pacific Islands University’s ministry to the churches PIU serves. PIU President, Rev. Howard Merrell, comments, “Each year we try to zero in on an aspect of ministry that is essential to the work of the church. Making disciples is at the very heart of the commission that our Lord gave to His church. I have seen, up close, the work Steve is doing in this area. He is a practitioner. His teaching on discipleship comes from a life-time of experience in Micronesia, working with college students, preparing missionary candidates, and equipping servant-leaders in local churches.”
Almost two millennia ago Jesus told us to make disciples. Too often we have been content with merely winning converts and running programs. Veteran missionary, educator, mission-mobilizer, and, most of all, disciple-maker, Steve Stinnette will be the keynote speaker of PIU’s Ministry Equipping Conference.
The conference will be held at the Palmridge Hotel. PIU desires to make this conference accessible to as many key leaders as possible. If there are those who desire to come, and who are recommended by their pastor, for whom the registration fee is an obstacle, they should contact the President’s office as soon as possible, at [email protected] or 671-734-1812, ext.15.
The cost for the conference is $40 for the entire conference, including materials, snacks on Thursday and Friday, and lunch on Saturday, or $12 for Thur. or Fri. and $25 for Saturday.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
