Pacific Islands University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dorothy Houde as the University’s Liberal Studies Chair. Dot is a graduate of State University of New York with a BA in Spanish and a MS in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). She is well qualified to lead PIU in providing quality educational opportunities in disciplines that are often wrongly seen as merely secular.
PIU’s philosophy of education is that all knowledge is a gift from God. All of our classes are taught with consistency to a Christian worldview. In particular, Dot is passionate about teaching English to speakers of other languages. She looks forward to working with other faculty members in providing PIU students the English skills in listening, reading, speaking, and writing that open doors in today’s world.
Dot and her husband Gary have served as part of the PIU faculty since 2016. We are pleased to announce this position of greater responsibility and opportunity for Dot.
If you would like to congratulate Dot on this new appointment, you can send her a note at [email protected].
