Dive Programs

The natural ocean waters of Micronesia are teaming with a diversity of life nearly unparalleled in the rest of the world. This, along with hundreds of sunken vessels, many of these museum-like remnants of the Second World War, attracts Thousand of Scuba divers and eco-tourists each year.

PIU is excited to offer two practical courses of study to prepare students for engagement in the growing Micronesian scuba diving and eco-tourism industries and the closely related ministry of outdoor recreation. Successful students will gain highly marketable skills to work in these fields.

For those enrolled in a BA program. The courses in these 18 unit minors are designed to prepare interested students with the skills necessary to participate in SCUBA diving all the way through PADI Divemaster certification. It also includes courses in basic business and marine biology.

Our certificate in Dive Instruction can be taken independent of enrollment in the BA program. This program first certifies students as open water divers and then leads them through a succession of courses that eventually qualifies them to pass the instructor examination. This program is 25 units.
