PROGRAMS
It is important for Christians to develop a biblical worldview; that is, to be able to evaluate all knowledge, cultural values, and social interactions in the light of scriptural truth. Toward that end PIBC offers studies leading to a certificate, a diploma, an Associate of Arts (AA) degree, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree.
While we gladly welcome students from all cultural backgrounds and nations we are especially focused on developing a generation of servant leaders from the Pacific Islanders.
Applicants will be counseled as to which of the programs best meets their needs. Transfer from one program to another is possible at any time.
Both the certificate (54 credits required) and diploma (72 credits required) programs provide students with a solid foundation in Bible and theology, and are designed to equip Christian men and women for full-time or part-time church ministries. Course work and internships require three years of full-time study. Students in these programs are required to take two English classes
The certificate program, with less of a course load, allows students to work at a slower pace.
The AA and BA programs require general education courses which may be taken at any accredited college, including the University of Guam, Guam Community College, and College of Micronesia. Some general education courses are offered on the PIBC campus.
The two-year AA degree (63 credits required) is designed for Christian professionals, students who are working toward a non-theological degree, and for anyone who wishes to study the fundamentals of the Christian faith.
The four-year Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies (126 credits required) offers a Biblical Studies major which aims for a balance among Bible, theology, and practical courses. It is more comprehensive than the other programs, and includes 36 credit hours of general education studies and field education.
The Master of Arts in Religion (MAR) is an introductory (45 credits) graduate-level seminary degree providing an in-depth study of the Scriptures and the essential truths of the Christian message. The program is profitable for Christian educators, staff pastors, and for informed lay leaders desiring a scriptural undergirding for service in a supportive role in a local church or other ministry.
