Koinonia “Fellowship” in Greek
1 Cor. 1:9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into fellowship with his son, Jesus Christ our Lord and also fellowship with one another.
Phil. 2:1 Therefore, if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort provided by love, any fellowship in the Spirit, an affection or mercy,
K2 (Koinonia squared) was a retreat weekend in which our students were able to pause from the craziness of everyday life and focus on God and on fellowship with others. This was a time of worship, a time to focus on what God has in store for each of their lives, and a time to share in community experiences. Our speaker, Rick Bee, gave presentations and led discussions about LIVING the CONTENTED Life. Other organized activities included community service in the Mangilao neighborhood, shared meals, and fun activities at the Lutheran Church of Guam. Most of the students spent one night at LCG.
Faculty and staff participated by leading and joining the activities of the four retreat groups. They provided some meals, played in some of the games at LCG, and made themselves available for the many informal conversations that took place all weekend. Some faculty members even joined the students in sleeping on the church floor at LCG.
